2. What a chart pack is
A chart pack gives access to official nautical chart data for one country in the AYLO chart on your AYLO unit and the screens connected to it. The data comes from the country's hydrographic office (see section 8), and we convert it to AYLO's own chart format and style. Outside the purchased area, AYLO's free charts are used as before.
3. Validity and extension
A chart pack is valid for 12 months from purchase. It is not renewed automatically, and we never charge you without your consent. When fewer than 90 days remain, you can extend it in the app; the new 12 months are added to your current expiry date, so you lose no days. The app always shows how many days are left.
4. A chart pack requires an active AYLO subscription
A chart pack is an add-on to your AYLO subscription and only works while the subscription is active. If your subscription ends - because you cancel it, or because a payment fails - access to the chart pack ends at the same time, even if there is time left on it. The charts disappear from the AYLO chart the next time your AYLO unit is online (within a day), and AYLO then shows the free charts. No refund is given for the remaining time in that case. If you resume your subscription before the chart pack would have expired, access returns for the remaining time.
5. If we lose the right to a country's charts
We show official charts under agreements with the countries' hydrographic offices. If such an agreement ends, we must remove that country's charts from AYLO. If that happens while your chart pack is valid, we refund the remaining part of the period pro rata.
6. Liability and safe navigation
The chart packs are a supplement to approved navigation equipment. The charts are derived from official data, but AYLO is not an approved navigation system, and we give no warranty that the charts are complete, correct or up to date. Charts change, and there may be errors and omissions - also in the authorities' own data and in our conversion of it.
It is always your own responsibility to navigate carefully and according to the conditions. Keep a lookout, follow buoyage, signs and signals, keep up to date with Notices to Mariners and listen on VHF. We recommend having several chart sources on board - such as paper charts or an approved chart plotter - and not navigating by AYLO alone.
We are not liable for loss or damage caused by errors or omissions in the charts, or by the charts not being available for a period. This does not limit your rights under mandatory law.
7. Use of the charts
A chart pack is for your own, personal use on board your boat. The charts may be shown on at most five devices at a time. You may not copy, extract, share, sell or otherwise pass on the charts or the data in them. The data is encrypted on your AYLO unit, and all copyright belongs to the hydrographic offices it comes from.
